 Served on Board of Directors for 6 years. President of one of their
area Councils in 1993.
Top membership recruiter in annual membership campaign. Has made
a $5,000 annual
contribution for the last six years to assist their Economic
Development efforts. Participated in
8 G.L.I.D.E. trips (3 day excursions to other cities to bring
new ideas to Louisville. Chaired
Task Force and then committee for Showcase Greater Louisville
Joe was on the Board of the Chamber of Commerce (now Greater Louisville,
Inc., or GLI).
He persuaded the Board to allow him to organize a trade show
to create a new non-dues
source of revenue for the Chamber. This show, named “Showcase
Greater Louisville” was
the nations largest in its 1st year. 1996 Metro Chamber of Commerce
- Annual Honoree for Outstanding
Community Service for making “Showcase Greater Louisville” the
Nation’s
Largest Trade show in its Inaugural Year
