Mabel Holloway

Joe has always felt that those who are successful should give a portion back - to whom much is given, much is expected. Besides the many public things he has done, there are many things he has done quietly - undocumented and unrecognized. For instance, in the past he has called the Head of Consumer Affairs and the local Commonwealth Attorney and told them if they come across an individual where there is a real hardship because they have been “ripped off” by an unscrupulous contractor, he would like to see if he could help out. One such case, Mabel Holloway, was written up in our local newspaper. In another case, he became aware of a man, Danny McKune, with a wife and 4 children, 1 with Cerebral Palsy, living in a small house with 1 bedroom and 1 bath all sleeping in the same room. They desperately needed another bedroom and bath. The husband was a carpenter and was able to do the work, but had no money for any materials. Joe was able to arrange for all the materials to be donated in order to build another bedroom and bath, and paid for the work the owner was unable to do.
